- One-way flight ticket Jakarta to KLIA1
- ~IDR 300,000 for visa fee
Some companies conduct background checks on work and life history, requiring laptop/tablet to fill forms.
The Process
1. Job Offer & Sponsorship
- Employer must be ESD-registered
- You provide documents
- Company submits application
2. Document Submission
- Background verification
- Health screening (may be required)
- Online forms requiring detailed employment history
3. Visa Approval
- Two common types mentioned: VDR (Visit/Work Pass) and Single Entry Visa
- Processing time: 1-3 months
4. Travel
- Book one-way flight after visa approval
- Present passport and visa approval at KLIA1 immigration
- Most companies arrange airport pickup
5. Work Pass Collection
- Company helps convert entry visa to Employment Pass
- May require additional medical check in Malaysia
- Receive physical Employment Pass card
Employment Pass Categories

Most BPO and professional roles start with Category II or III.
Postpaid Mobile Deposit
Postpaid phone registration requires RM 500 deposit for foreigners. Refunded when closing account.
Important Reminders
- Confirm company has ESD registration
- Never pay "agents" directly for visa processing
- Official visa fee (~IDR 300k) paid to immigration, not individuals
- Track arrival date - days in Malaysia affect tax residency (183-day rule for tax resident status)
